Roofing – It’s a Big Deal.

Roofing projects have become more complex and expensive over the years. The requirements demanded by the State, Feds and Manufactures alike have driven up the costs of installing a new roof system. Also, the recent trade wars and inflation have increased the cost of many roofing related materials by 20-70%: Examples would be plywood, metal flashings, composition shingles.

Regarding labor, well the days of cheap labor are over – and for those who perform dangerous and professional trade work such as roofing – Hallejuah! So why the rich get richer, the roofers may finally be getting a better wage (still not a living wage), and the middle class continues to get squeezed.

What’s the point of all this? When it comes time to get a new roof, make sure that it is going to last by hiring experienced, professional and dedicated employees from a company that has been around a few decades or more. Know what your getting and get it in writing in the form of a detailed roofing proposal. This is not the time to be cheap. Buy cheap art or perfume, but not cheap tires, surgeons, or roofs.
